Finally...here's Bald Bull, made out of Perler beads. He's the most notorious opponent from the Nintendo game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, besides Tyson.
I tried a different ironing technique, and let's just say I'll be going back to my original method. This beadsprite is 23" tall and 9" wide.

Very cool, and even if it has nothing to do with the perler bead figure the background you've chosen to photograph it on is very fitting. What did you do different with the ironing?
Thank you. I noticed that, too. That background color ended up being very complimentary and made a big difference in its appearance, especially with the thumbnail preview.
With the ironing technique on this, I just tried making broad, quick, even passes with the iron. I thought it would logically result in a more even melt, when it actually had the opposite effect, for some bizarre reason.
I had to go back and spot melt many parts to even it out some to get it to look halfway decent; I thought at first the figure was ruined and I'd have to start over from scratch, it initially looked that bad. The "slow and steady wins the race" mantra also applies to irong huge beadsprites, I guess.

Thank you. The ironing came out rather 'meh' on this. I recently played the Famicom version of Punch-Out, and Bull's shorts are a different color; he's sans-toothpaste trunks. They're the same light/medium blue that Super Mach Man's bananna hammock and Don Flamenco's gloves both are.
After Flamenco, I guess I'll go Great Tiger, Piston Honda, Glass Joe, Mr. Sandman, Von Kaiser, then Tyson. Maybe after Tyson, I'll do the rematch Don Flamenco (with the bright green gloves) and Mr. Dream, just to make the set complete.

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
